Year wrapped: Lightning Minerals' Lithium Valley discoveries in Brazil

Year wrapped: Lightning Minerals' Lithium Valley discoveries in Brazil

Lightning Minerals Ltd (ASX:L1M) managing director Alex Biggs talked with Proactive’s Tylah Tully about the company’s milestones in 2024 and its outlook for 2025.

Biggs highlighted the significant progress made across its lithium projects in Minas Gerais' Lithium Valley region of Brazil, including Esperança, Canabrava and Caraíbas.

He described the strategic acquisition of assets in the region, emphasising how the downturn in lithium prices provided an opportunity to secure projects in this highly prospective jurisdiction.

Biggs shared that initial groundwork—including mapping, soil sampling, and target identification—has yielded promising results, setting the stage for substantial drilling campaigns in early 2025.

Biggs noted, “If you look back at our recent announcements, you will see the value of our projects has increased significantly in Brazil. We believe that 2025 is going to be very good for lithium.”

Lightning Minerals has also been building strong relationships in Brazil, including with Invest Minas, the government’s investment arm, to ensure a sustainable and beneficial approach to its operations.

Biggs concluded with optimism about the company’s growth, saying the focus for 2025 is on achieving significant lithium discoveries in Brazil and advancing projects in Australia and Canada.
