YouTube TV is raising its subscription fees once again, citing the rising cost of content and ongoing investments in the platform.
The cost of its live TV service is increasing to $82.99 per month, up from $72.99.
In an email sent to subscribers Thursday, YouTube TV assured users that the decision was not made lightly and emphasized the value of the service, including features like unlimited DVR storage, multiview, and a broad content library.
"We realize this impacts our members, and we remain committed to bringing you the best of TV, all in one place," the company stated, acknowledging the potential frustration caused by the increase.
This marks YouTube TV's third price hike in recent years. In March 2023, the service increased its price from $64.99 to $72.99 per month following a deal to stream NFL Sunday Ticket. Prior to that, the price had increased from $49.99 to $64.99 in 2020.
When YouTube TV launched in 2017, the monthly subscription was just $35.
The move has sparked backlash on social media, with users expressing frustration over the steep price increase.

While YouTube TV continues to offer more than 100 channels, unlimited DVR storage, and the ability to stream on multiple devices, many subscribers are questioning whether the service's value justifies the higher cost.
