EnWave and ELEA Technology partner to enhance potato snack production

EnWave Corp (TSX-V:ENW, OTC:NWVCF) announced that it has signed a research and development license agreement and lease agreement with ELEA Technology GmbH, a leader in pulse electric field (PEF) technology.

The partnership will integrate EnWave’s Radiant Energy Vacuum (REV) technology with ELEA’s PEF to develop potato and vegetable snacks that eliminate frying by pre-treating the products with PEF before REV-drying.

PEF is a food processing technique that alters the physical structure of fresh produce, leading to notable improvements in yield, freshness, flavor, and nutritional preservation, while also reducing time and energy consumption.

Under the terms of the lease, ELEA will rent a 10kW REV machine at its German facility starting in February 2025, with a minimum three-month term.

ELEA has already implemented its PEF technology at many of the largest potato manufacturers globally. Should the research carried out under this agreement yield positive results, EnWave expects to rapidly commercialize new potato and vegetable snack products through ELEA's extensive industry network, the company said.

EnWave is a global leader in vacuum microwave dehydration, specializing in its REV technology to provide efficient, scalable, and high-quality drying solutions for the food, pharmaceutical, and cannabis industries.
