Sintana Energy Inc (TSX-V:SEI, OTCQB:SEUSF) has provided an update on the second exploration campaign on blocks 2813A and 2814B, governed by Petroleum Exploration License 83 (PEL), in Namibia’s Orange Basin.
Sintana holds a 49% interest in Custos Energy, which owns a 10% working interest in PEL 83.
The company announced that project operator Galp and its partners, following successful appraisal results at the Mopane-1A location revealing light oil and gas-condensate in high-quality reservoirs, have decided to retain the Santorini drillship for continued exploration and appraisal activities.
The campaign includes the Mopane-2A well, recently spud in AVO-3, and plans for Mopane-3X in AVOs 10 and 13 in early 2025, leveraging new 3D seismic data.
Additionally, a high-resolution 3D seismic survey over the Mopane complex will begin in December 2024.
“The acceleration of operations in this second campaign is emblematic of the ongoing progress at Mopane,” Sintana CEO Robert Bose said.
“We look forward to the exploration and appraisal activities anticipated over coming months to further unveil its world class scale and quality.”
