Year wrapped: WIN Metals’ strategic shift and gold focus for 2025

Year wrapped: WIN Metals’ strategic shift and gold focus for 2025

WIN Metals Ltd managing director and CEO Steve Norregaard joined Proactive’s Tylah Tully to discuss the company’s strategic rebranding and key developments in 2024.

Norregaard highlighted the shift from Widgie Nickel to WIN Metals, signalling a focus on gold exploration, particularly at the Butcher’s Creek project in the Kimberley region of Western Australia.

“This year, we drilled 7,000 metres at Butcher’s Creek and achieved standout intercepts such as 98 metres at 1.47 grams per tonne gold. These results confirm significant potential for extension both at depth and along strike,” Norregaard shared.

Golden Crown, just six kilometres north, also delivered high-grade intercepts beneath its existing resource, pointing to promising opportunities for expansion.

For 2025, WIN Metals will prioritise advancing its gold projects by deepening technical studies and conducting further exploration to leverage the strong gold price environment.

Norregaard also noted that while the company was focused on gold, its nickel and lithium assets remained valuable components of the portfolio, with potential upside as market conditions shifted.
