SpaceX has reached a valuation of approximately $350 billion following a tender offer allowing up to $1.25 billion in insider shares to be sold, according to an internal memo cited by Bloomberg.
The transaction prices the rocket company's unlisted shares at $185 each, a significant increase from the $112 valuation set earlier this year.
SpaceX itself will buy back up to $500 million worth of common stock as part of the deal.
This valuation solidifies the Elon Musk-led group as the world's most valuable private startup, comparable in size to leading public companies.
It is a key player in the space industry, providing satellite launches, space transport for NASA and the Pentagon, and expanding its Starlink internet service.
The tender offer allows employees and early shareholders to liquidate holdings, reflecting the growing investor interest in Musk’s ventures, whose personal wealth has also surged, now standing at $384 billion, according to Bloomberg estimates.
