Botala Energy Ltd (ASX:BTE) CEO Kris Martinick talks with Proactive’s Tylah Tully about the company’s Serowe CBM Project in Botswana and its notable progress throughout 2024.
Martinick emphasised Botala Energy’s transition from technical achievements to commercial success, with a 42% increase in certified resources and ongoing efforts to supply gas to the Johannesburg market by 2027.
“Our Serowe project demonstrates strong potential with its cost-effective wells and commercially viable gas production,” said Martinick.
The CEO detailed plans to finalise a mining licence in early 2025 and shared updates on renewable energy initiatives.
Botala has also progressed its solar projects, including a 4MW facility with a 25-year PPA and a larger 500MW development in partnership with a Netherlands-based firm.
Looking ahead, Martinick revealed the company’s focus on concluding gas offtake agreements and starting a bankable feasibility study for LNG production.
He highlighted Botala’s commitment to integrating gas and solar energy for sustainable solutions in Southern Africa.
