With a proven track record in building strong relationships with investment banks, research analysts and investors at institutional and retail levels, incoming director Blake Steele is expected to be a valuable addition to Lindian Resources Ltd (ASX:LIN, OTC:LINIF).
Steele’s appointment as a non-executive director comes into effect on December 10, 2024, and Lindian believes his expertise will be instrumental as the company progresses funding activities for the world-class Kangankunde Rare Earths Project in Malawi.
This strategic appointment supports the company’s ongoing efforts to enhance the board and senior leadership team, and the board continues its external search for another non-executive director after which it will elect the chair position.
Wealth of experience
Steele brings to Lindian a wealth of experience in capital markets and resources across major international jurisdictions, including Australia, Asia and North America. He is currently the non-executive chairman of ASX-listed uranium explorer Basin Energy Ltd (ASX:BSN, OTC:BSNEF).
In his previous role as president and chief executive officer of Azarga Uranium Corp, Steele demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities and strategic vision.
Under his guidance, Azarga Uranium experienced significant M&A and capital growth, culminating in its acquisition by enCore Energy Corp for ~C$200 million in 2022.
Steele’s extensive board experience includes non-executive roles at Kaizen Discovery Inc., which was acquired by Ivanhoe Electric Inc., and Gold Mountain Mining Corp. (TSX-V:GMTN)
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from The University of British Columbia and is a member of The Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and The Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators.
