Awale Resources Ltd (TSX-V:ARIC) CEO Andrew Chubb in a recent interview with Proactive provided an update on the company’s ongoing exploration efforts in Cote d'Ivoire.
Chubb detailed recent updates, including high-grade results from the Charger zone and deeper drilling success at the BBM prospect.
Proactive: We're here at Resourcing Tomorrow 2024. Joining me in the Proactive studio is Andrew Chubb, the CEO of Awale Resources. Andrew, very good to chat to you. What brings you to Resourcing Tomorrow?
Andrew Chubb: To source maybe some new names for Awale, introduce new people to the story. And we already have a group of investors based here in London, so it's an opportunity to catch up with them as well.
So, what is the story that you're telling investors and potential investors?
We're a TSX-listed company. We've got a large copper and gold exploration play in the northwest of Côte d'Ivoire. We've made some significant discoveries. Within our 2,500-square-kilometer package, we have 800km² in a joint venture with Newmont, where they fund and we manage the exploration.
You had some results from the Charger zone recently. That was in early November, and they look pretty positive.
We're really happy with that. It was follow-up work on the high-grade discoveries we've been announcing, and we intercepted more high-grade zones, which is great. We also intercepted the system at depth in that program. We've developed a new structural model that we’ll be drill-testing soon.
The rig will be at Charger later in December, and we're excited about this new fold model, which could drive more high-grade mineralization. At BBM, we released results from two deeper holes. They showed the system is wide open at depth with intercepts over 400 meters down. Drilling has restarted at BBM, and we’re looking to grow that system along strike in both directions, as well as at depth.
So, what's next for the projects?
We’ll be drilling more at BBM and Charger. The new dry season has just started, running from October to July/August of 2025. We’re pushing as much drilling as possible during this time, so expect lots of results.
On another front, about a month ago, we announced a new gold footprint on our 100% owned Awale properties. It’s exciting because we’ve proven the concept within our current permit area. Now, with additional funds raised, we’re stepping outside our 400km² "box" to drill new targets, starting in the first quarter of next year. This is low-hanging fruit, just four kilometers away on the same structure. It’s an exciting opportunity on the 100% Awale side of the story, separate from the Newmont joint venture.
Lots for your investors to look forward to, I’m sure.
Absolutely. There’s plenty of results coming throughout 2025, and if we make discoveries on our 100% ground, that will be really exciting.
