Carrier JetBlue Airways (NASDAQ:JBLU) is terminating several domestic and transatlantic flights as it shifts focus to build a stronger East Coast leisure network.
The airline will cease flights from New York’s John F Kennedy Airport to London Gatwick and reduce its New York to Paris service from two daily flights to one during summer 2025.
JetBlue’s decision was reportedly in response to financial competition from larger airlines.
“Most of our customers impacted by these changes will be able to select alternate flight options themselves on JetBlue.com. Where alternate routes are not available, customers will be provided with a refund,” the airline said in a statement.
Domestically, JetBlue is ending flights between Fort Lauderdale and Jacksonville, New York-JFK and Miami, Milwaukee, Houston, and Austin, as well as Westchester County and Charleston.
The airline is also closing its San Jose, California, station, citing long-standing struggles in that market.
JetBlue, on Wednesday, raised its fourth-quarter revenue expectations, although it still anticipates a revenue decline of between 2% and 5% year over year from between 3% and 7% previously.
