GSK PLC (LSE:GSK, NYSE:GSK) has extended its partnership with Chongqing Zhifei Biological Products (Zhifei) to bring its shingles vaccine, Shingrix, to mainland China through 2034.
The revised agreement builds on a previous three-year deal and includes exclusive rights for Zhifei to import, distribute, and promote Shingrix.
The collaboration will also explore a potential partnership for GSK’s respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine, which is pending regulatory approval.
This agreement aims to expand access to innovative jabs to over 500 million people across China.
Zhifei, the largest vaccine company in China by revenue, operates a network of more than 30,000 vaccination points nationwide.
Under the terms, Zhifei is expected to purchase phased volumes of Shingrix worth up to £2.3 billion over six years, though previous minimum purchase requirements have been removed.
