Canada Nickel Company Inc (TSX-V:CNC, OTCQX:CNIKF) CEO Mark Selby talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the company’s advancements in net-zero critical metals production. Selby highlighted Canada Nickel’s flagship Crawford project, which is set to become the second-largest nickel reserve globally and the largest nickel sulfide operation in the Western world when fully ramped up.
The project aims to meet the growing demand for clean, green nickel in the electric vehicle (EV) and stainless steel markets. Selby explained how the company’s innovative IPPT carbonation process could store up to 1.50 million tons of CO2 annually, making it one of Canada’s largest carbon storage facilities.
He also discussed the company’s timeline, with permits expected by next year and plans to publish additional resources across eight properties in the Timmins area by next spring. Selby emphasized the importance of critical metals in localized supply chains and the competitive advantage of Canada Nickel's low-carbon footprint.
“Being effectively in North America as a supplier of nickel, cobalt, and other critical materials puts us in a great position,” he stated.
