Ecora Resources PLC (LSE:ECOR, TSX:ECOR, OTCQX:ECRAF) has noted yesterday's confirmation from operator Vale that it had completed the Voisey's Bay Mine Expansion Project.
Royalty specialist Ecora has a stream agreement which entitles it to 22.82% of all cobalt production from the Voisey's Bay mine up to 7,600t of finished cobalt, after which the percentage drops to 11.41%.
The expansion project will shift Voisey's Bay from open pit to underground production through two mines - Reid Brook and Eastern Deeps - which will deliver concentrate for processing at the Long Harbour Processing Plant.
In addition to the increased nickel production, the project will produce 2.6 Ktpa of cobalt on average over the life of mine.
A full ramp-up at Voisey’s Bay is expected by the second half of 2026, Ecora added.
