Seeing Machines Ltd's (AIM:SEE, OTC:SEEMF) driver safety technology observed and intervened in over 11 million ‘risk’ events in the past year.
The London-listed tech firm on Wednesday released its 2023-24 Guardian Insights Report, its analysis of global trends in driver fatigue and distraction.
It draws on data collected across 60,000 vehicles worldwide, encompassing over 3.60 billion kilometres of travel. It observed over 11.6 million risky driving events in the period – which were addressed by the Guardian platform in real-time.
Guardian detected more than 600,000 instances of mobile device use whilst driving, along with an average of 51 fatigue events per hour and 5 distracted events per minute.
Noting reginal differences, Seeing Machines said Latin America contributed nearly half of all distraction-related incidents, while the UK had the lowest rate of mobile phone distractions.
The Guardian technology reduces fatigue-related driving events by over 90.00%, Seeing Machines highlighted.
