Impact Minerals Limited (ASX:IPT)managing director Mike Jones talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the company’s progress at the Resourcing Tomorrow conference. Jones detailed the development of the Lake Hope High Purity Alumina (HPA) Project in Western Australia. He explained its role in the growing demand for LED lights driven by the energy transition and outlined the unique aspects of their deposit.
"The scoping study showed robust economics with a post-tax NPV exceeding A$1 billion and some of the lowest operating costs globally," said Jones. He emphasised the strategic importance of being a low-cost producer in the HPA sector.
Jones also shared that Impact Minerals is nearing the completion of its pre-feasibility study, with plans to advance into a definitive feasibility study involving a pilot plant. A federal government grant of nearly A$3 million has been awarded to support the project, validating its potential.
