Graft Polymer (UK) PLC (LSE:GPL) has announced plans to rename itself Solvonis Therapeutics PLC, pending shareholder approval at a general meeting on January 6.
The proposed change reflects the company’s strategic focus on developing treatments for mental health and substance use disorders, with an emphasis on trauma-related conditions such as PTSD.
Separately, the company reported progress in its collaboration with Awakn Life Sciences on an Aminoindane-based New Chemical Entity (NCE) programme.
This initiative aims to develop new treatments for mental health issues. Early-stage studies, conducted with Eurofins Discovery and the University of Nottingham, are nearing completion, with results expected soon.
Despite the acquisition of Charnwood Discovery, Awakn’s synthesis partner, the tie-up remains in place, Graft confirmed.
