Wizz Air planes fuller in November as bookings stay healthy

Wizz Air Holdings PLC (AIM:WIZZ) carried more passengers in November despite capacity issues due to problems with the Pratt & Whitney engines that power its fleet.

The central Europe-based airline carried 4.84 million passengers during November, a 1.7% increase year on year.

Seat capacity was down 1.7% year-on-year, though this boosted the load factor to 91.5%, up 3.1ppts on last year's comparable 88.4%.

WizzAir added that booking has remained healthy in November and into December which has helped yields.

On a rolling twelve-month basis, Wizz Air has carried 62.59 million passengers, up 5.1% with an average load factor of 90.3%.

CO2 emissions per passenger kilometre (RPK) were down 2.2% year-on-year to 51.5 grammes in November, the statement added.

Shares rose 2.8% to 1,300p.
