Jaguar has unveiled its new electric car that will be built in the UK and act as a "prelude to a future generation of Jaguars that will recapture the spirit and essence of the brand at its best".
The Jaguar Type 00 will be an electric four‑door GT – with first production-ready models to be revealed in late 2025.
The British carmaker, owned by India's Tata Motors, launched the designs in Miami on Monday with a statement that they aim to recapture the original ethos to "copy nothing".
Jaguar Type 00 is "a fearless statement. An object of desire. A concept with bold forms and exuberant proportions to inspire future Jaguars".
Prospective buyers are being shown two colours, dubbed Miami pink and London blue, with the design showing the car lacks a rear windscreen.
On both sides rear-facing cameras provide the driver with a wing-mirror view.
Autocar described the curves at the front of the car as “a wraparound effect reminiscent of a racing helmet”.
Jaguar, which recently revealed a new design and logo as part of its planned move to becoming a fully electric brand, said the new model will use a dedicated electric architecture and target a range of over 430 miles.
