Great Southern Copper PLC (LSE:GSCU) said that after good exploration progress in its last half year, it now has seven drill-ready targets in Chile including Viuda where reconnaissance RC drilling recently commenced.
Over the next 6-12 months, GSC said it will continue drilling and prioritise the Mostaza mine target to build on the high-grade copper, gold and silver resources already identified.
Sam Garrett, GSC’s chief executive added: "This has been a significant period of progress at Great Southern Copper, having continued to advance exploration work at our projects, validated by excellent results received from a number of highly prospective targets.
“We have also continued to expand our concession footprint at Especularita with the addition of the Cerro Negro and Artemisa projects.
“These additions add significant value to Especularita and we are progressing our exploration work at these prospects rapidly.
"The two fundraises we have completed were well supported and mean that GSC is well funded for its initial drilling campaign at Especularita.”
In June and November, GSC raised £1.25 million and £780,000 respectively.
Losses for the half year to end September 2024 were £1 million (£602,000).
