Volta Metals CEO Kerem Usenmez joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share promising results from a mobile metal ion (MMI) soil sampling program at the Falcon West Lithium Project in Northwest Ontario. The sampling, guided by high-resolution aeromagnetic and LIDAR surveys, identified five primary and five secondary targets with anomalous lithium response ratios, suggesting strong potential for lithium-bearing pegmatites.
The program not only targeted lithium but also cesium, tantalum, and indicative minerals such as tin. Additionally, dispersion minerals like rare-alkali biotite, tourmaline, and holmquistite—a lithium-associated mineral often located within 5 to 20 meters of spodumene mineralization—were detected. The sizable 2.5 km by 1.5 km cluster of targets indicates the Falcon West Pegmatite Swarm could be significantly larger than previously defined.
These findings justify further exploration, including overburden stripping of priority targets to develop additional drill sites. Volta Metals is committed to unlocking Falcon West's potential, advancing its position in the critical minerals sector as global demand for lithium continues to grow.
