Blockmate Ventures Inc (TSX-V:MATE, OTCQB:MATEF) chairman Domenic Carosa joined Proactive to discuss an exciting new partnership between Hivello and XYO, a leading decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN).
Carosa explained how the collaboration will expand Hivello’s global reach, particularly in emerging markets, and how the platform allows individuals to earn passive income by sharing their computer resources.
He also highlighted the growing momentum of the DePIN sector and the ease of use of Hivello’s platform.
Proactive: Welcome back to our proactive newsroom. Joining me now is Domenic Carosa, Chairman of Blockmate Ventures and Hivello. Exciting news coming out from Hivello about a partnership with XYO, which is a large decentralized physical infrastructure network. Can you explain a bit more about this partnership?
Domenic Carosa: XYO is one of the largest DePINs—DePIN stands for decentralized physical infrastructure networks. We've signed a partnership deal that’s focused specifically on the African and Asian markets. This partnership will expand Hivello’s reach and customer base, and we’ll be working together to actively promote both companies.
Tell us a little more about DePIN and the size of the company you're partnering with. As you mentioned, XYO is quite large.
Absolutely. DePIN allows people to share their computer resources and get paid for it. Hivello, as a DePIN aggregator, operates like Airbnb, but for your computer. On Airbnb, you rent out a house or room to earn money; with Hivello, people can rent out their computer's processing power and get paid, whether in tokens, stablecoins, or cash. It’s essentially earning passive income from your laptop or desktop.
XYO has about 8 million nodes operating in 150 countries, so this partnership really expands Hivello’s reach. It seems like a strong move for the company.
Definitely. We’re focusing on both technical integration and marketing, which will help us get Hivello out to a much larger global audience. We see huge opportunities in emerging markets. There are millions—possibly tens of millions—of unused computers out there that could be turned on, contributing to this decentralized network. And by sharing their computer resources, people will be able to earn rewards.
One of the appealing aspects of this is that it generates passive income. Many people are looking for ways to earn without a lot of effort. By simply turning on their computer, they can create value for themselves or their families. It sounds like this model is gaining strong momentum.
Exactly. DePIN is still a relatively new sector within Web3 and blockchain—the term has been around for less than two years. We see this as a huge opportunity to bring DePIN to the mass market. The way we’ve designed the application means you don’t need to be a crypto expert or a tech enthusiast to use it. You simply point, click, install it, and start earning. It’s that easy.
