Anglo American and supermarkets: What brokers said today

Shore Capital Markets’ retail guru Clive Black has pulled no punches in his latest assessment of the UK’s foods and drink sector's prospects under Labour chancellor Rachel Reeves’ economic vision.

Black sharply criticised the recent Budget, calling it "a car crash" and accusing the government of being "naive, duplicitous, ideological, and stupid".

Anglo American PLC (LSE:AAL) shares ticked up on Friday morning after the miner was granted a ‘buy’ rating by Jefferies analysts.

Though there were still risks around its restructuring, which has seen Anglo sell off coal and platinum assets, Jefferies said a drop in the shares left good value.
