Shares in renewable energy generator SSE PLC (LSE:SSE) were up 1.8% mid-afternoon after an upgrade by an upgrade by Deutsche Bank, which has moved its recommendation 'buy', citing its attractive valuation and strong growth prospects.
The shares, trading at 1,783p, are valued at a 2026/27 earnings multiple of just 9 times, one of the lowest in the sector, Deutsche Bank said, maintaining its price target at 2,000p,
The upgrade highlights SSE’s rapid regulated asset base growth and the potential for robust earnings per share increases through at least 2030/31.
The UK government’s push to decarbonise its power sector by 2030 underpins substantial investment opportunities across networks, renewables, and thermal generation, DB noted.
