The ASX 200 fell by 0.69% today, closing at 8,359.4 points. Over the past five days, the index has remained relatively unchanged but is currently 1.21% below its 52-week high.
Life360 Inc. (ASX:360) was the top-performing stock of the day, rising 6.9% to $23.25, despite no major announcements. Healius Resources also gained nearly 6% to close at $1.42 per share, with no specific news reported.
On the downside, Spark New Zealand dropped 5.11% to $2.60. The decline followed the announcement of Stewart Taylor's appointment as chief financial officer, effective from December 9. Taylor brings more than 25 years of experience in finance and executive roles within the financial services sector.
In sector movements, Consumer Staples led the gains, rising by 1.04%. Energy was the weakest-performing sector, falling by 3.13%.
Element 25 Ltd (ASX:E25, OTCQX:ELMTF) was among the small cap gainers today with shares as much as 12.97% higher to $0.305 and QMines Ltd (ASX:QML) had a similar gain, up 12.9% to a daily high of $0.07.
Other increases in the sector were Infinity Lithium Corporation Ltd (ASX:INF), which hit $0.033, a rise of 10% on the previous close, Evolution Energy Minerals Ltd (ASX:EV1) was as much as 7.69% higher at $0.028, Solis Minerals Ltd (ASX:SLM, TSX-V:SLMN, OTCQB:SLMFF) reached $0.092, a lift of 5.75%, and Nova Minerals Ltd (ASX:NVA, NASDAQ:NVA) increased up to 4.64% to $0.225.
