Zero Candida Ltd (TSX-V:ZCT), the Israeli femtech start-up, closed its first day of trading on the TSX Venture Exchange at $2.13, a 1.4% increase from its opening level.
The company is developing an AI-powered medical device designed to treat vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC), a condition that affects 75% of women globally.
The device, resembling a tampon, uses controlled "blue light" technology to eliminate Candida fungus with 99.999% efficacy in a single overnight treatment, according to the company.
The device also features a Wi-Fi-enabled data transmission system that allows gynecologists to monitor and personalize treatments in real-time, making it accessible for populations in underserved regions, including developing countries.
Zero Candida's solution is non-chemical, side-effect-free, and aims to prevent recurrence, offering a significant advancement in women's health.
“Today is a great day for the FemTech industry and women's treatments around the world,” said Eli Ben Haroosh, Founder and CEO of Zero Candida. “Our new technology will be a game-changer in the field of women’s health.”
Zero Candida plans to finalize a human-use prototype by the first quarter of 2025 and aims to complete a preclinical study by mid-2025, with the intention of submitting the device for US FDA approval.
The listing follows a three-cornered amalgamation with a Canadian reporting issuer, resulting in the issuance of approximately 12.2 million shares of the resulting issuer, representing about 85.94% of the company's outstanding shares.
