Northstar Gold begins new drill program at Miller property in Ontario

Northstar Gold Corp. (CSE:NSG) announced on Monday that it has commenced a diamond drilling program at its Miller copper-gold property in Ontario.

Drilling will encompass 1,500 meters and is expected to conclude by year-end, Northstar said in a statement.

Preliminary drill results are anticipated next month.

The program is led by Wiijiiwaagan Drilling Limited Partnership—a collaboration between Boart Longyear and the Matachewan First Nation.

The program focuses on identifying copper-gold-silver volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) mineralization within the 350-meter-long Zone 2 Extension anomaly. This high-priority target lies 600 meters southeast of the historic Cam Copper Mine, a site known for high-grade copper production.

Northstar's previous drilling at Cam Copper intersected notable VMS copper horizons, including 14.8% copper over 2.45 meters in late 2023.

"Northstar is very pleased to commence this critical drill program at Miller," said Brian Fowler, Northstar’s CEO.

Fowler attributed the project’s progress to recent investor support, including the completion of an $818,750 private placement earlier this month, with plans to close a second tranche soon.

“Northstar has since received additional orders to close a second tranche in the near term and looks forward to a very successful drill program,” he added.
