Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN) founder Jeff Bezos has denied claims from Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) CEO Elon Musk that he believed President-Elect Donald Trump would lose the election and he told people to sell their shares in Musk-owned companies before the vote.
Musk shared on X that he learned at Mar-a-Lago that Jeff Bezos had told others Trump would surely lose, advising them to sell all their Tesla and SpaceX stock.
Bezos replied “Nope. 100% not true.”
“Well, then, I stand corrected,” Musk followed up.
Nope. 100% not true.

Musk has been tapped to lead Trump’s new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). The billionaire’s close ties with Trump have bolstered investor confidence in the success of his companies, especially Tesla and SpaceX, which benefit from billions in government contracts.
Meanwhile, Bezos, who owns The Washington Post, did not endorse either presidential candidate. He sparked controversy when he halted the newspaper’s editorial board from endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris.
The feud between Musk and Bezos stems from their rivalry as leaders of the space exploration companies, SpaceX and Blue Origin, as well as their competing visions for humanity’s future in space. Over the years, this rivalry has extended to public jabs, business disputes, and contrasting approaches to innovation.
