Proactive’s Tylah Tully breaks down Just the Facts of the latest news from Maximus Resources Ltd (ASX:MXR, OTC:MXRRF).
The company has shared positive metallurgical test results from the Eagles Nest Gold Deposit, 7 kilometres south of its Wattle Dam Gold Project in Western Australia’s Eastern Goldfields.
The tests show gold recovery rates ranging from 89.5% to 92.4%, confirming the deposit as free-milling and suitable for conventional gold processing. This includes recoveries of 90.5% in the oxide zone, 90.9% in transitional mineralisation, and 91.8% in primary mineralisation.
The Eagles Nest resource is estimated at 42,500 ounces of gold at 2.0 g/t, with near-surface mineralisation enhancing its economic potential. The deposit remains open along a 3-kilometre untested strike, providing significant exploration upside.
Maximus plans a follow-up drilling program in December to delineate shallow mineralisation and refine resource classification for a future mineral resource estimate (MRE) update. The company is also conducting additional metallurgical testing to optimise recovery processes and continues development studies aimed at reducing project risks. A mining proposal submission is targeted for next year.
