Aurumin announces leadership changes and board appointments as MD steps down

Aurumin Ltd (ASX:AUN) is undergoing some key changes at board level with the resignation of managing director Brad Valiukas, effective immediately, and the addition of some key talent to the board.

Valiukas, a founding member of the company, has served as managing director since the company's ASX listing in 2020.

The company expressed gratitude for his leadership and contributions, particularly in advancing its operations in the Sandstone region of Western Australia.

Previous non-executive director Daniel Raihani has been appointed as the new managing director.

Experienced board additions

Aurumin has strengthened its team with the appointments of John Ingram and Ben Broom as non-executive directors, who bring extensive expertise in geology, mining operations and corporate management.

John Ingram is a geologist with more than 25 years of experience across Australia, South America, West Africa and Europe. Ingram is currently serving as CEO of Patronus Resources Ltd (ASX:PTN).

He joins Aurumin with an impressive roll-call of senior positions at Pilbara Minerals Ltd (ASX:PLS), IGO Limited (ASX:IGO) and Western Areas.

Ingram holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Geology and postgraduate qualifications in geostatistics.

Ben Broom brings 20 years of commercial and operational experience, including a decade in senior leadership roles in mining operations throughout Australia, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Broom is a founder and director of Mineral Mining Services, which has multiple contracts across Western Australia's goldfields region.

Strategic focus on Sandstone region

Aurumin continues to focus on its flagship Sandstone Operations, underpinned by the Central Sandstone Project, which hosts a significant gold mineral resource of 881,300 ounces.

The company is deploying its exploration and development strategy across its portfolio, which includes gold projects at Johnson Range, Birrigrin and Southern Cross, alongside iron ore potential in select regions.

The leadership changes come as the company seeks to consolidate its position in the highly prospective Sandstone region while exploring new opportunities to enhance shareholder value.

Aurumin has also withdrawn specific resolutions from its upcoming Annual General Meeting, scheduled for 26 November 2024, as it repositions its strategic priorities. The company’s exploration and operational progress continues to reflect its commitment to creating long-term value for its stakeholders.
