Graphene Manufacturing Group Ltd (TSX-V:GMG, OTCQX:GMGMF) (GMG) has launched SUPER G, a graphene slurry that can be used to improve the performance of lithium-ion batteries.
The company said this “breakthrough” product, developed over three years, offers significant improvements in energy density, charge-discharge rates, and battery lifespan by offering superior electrical conductivity and reduced ionic resistance.
SUPER G is produced through GMG's proprietary graphene production system and tailored to integrate seamlessly into lithium-ion battery cathodes or anodes with a minimal weight impact 0.5% to 2%.
A recent study conducted by Oxford University has confirmed SUPER G’s “exceptional performance,” the company highlighted.
It showed that SUPER G delivers 2.5 times lower ionic resistivity and superior structural stability during calendaring compared to standard materials, ensuring longer-lasting battery performance.
GMG added that it is currently engaging in confidential talks with several battery manufacturers and other industry players about the potential testing and supply of SUPER G.
