Lloyds Banking Group PLC (LSE:LLOY) has added an app that tops benefits and other financial support customers might be eligible to claim.
Council tax discounts, energy grants, winter fuel payments and pension credits available to a customer will be flagged by the app, which Lloyds said has already helped thousands of people.
After responding to questions about their living situation, the app gives an estimate of the amount of benefits the customer might be eligible to receive.
Lloyds, which is potentially facing claims for billions of pounds in compensation for mis-selling car finance, added that an in-depth calculator gives a final summary with links for relevant websites to claim.
Tamara van den Ban, customer propositions director at Lloyds, said: “Billions of pounds of support is provided for those who need it through benefits, but many customers don’t know how to navigate the system or how to make a claim.”
Shares in Lloyds fell 1.9% to 55.2p.
