Kingfisher exit trends need to be watched in next week's update, says Citi

Kingfisher PLC (LSE:KGF) trading update next week (Monday 25 November) should contain some encouraging trends but might have a sting in the tail, believes US bank Citi.

UK trading at B&Q and Screwfix should be positive, France has easier comparatives and weakness in Poland should be modest.

On the risks, Citi adds that “exit trends may suggest more muted activity levels, especially in the UK with some outlook caution into 2025/26 amidst macro uncertainty”.

“However, investor sentiment may be broadly supportive as potential plans to exit Romania which is currently loss-making and evolving competitive dynamics from the change in ownership of Homebase which could drive tailwinds next year.”

Shares eased 0.5% to 285p.
