Bodycote up 6% as sales turn higher on good day for engineers

Bodycote Group (LSE:BOY) was another healthy riser on a good day for old-fashioned engineers (see Vesuvius)

The metal treatment specialist jumped 6% to 607p as it said revenues were up 1% to £643 million in the first ten months of 2024, while energy surcharges had fallen by £27 million.

Excluding surcharges, revenues even eked out a rise in the last four months Bodycote added, with aerospace and energy healthy but industrial and automotive weaker.

Full-year margins are expected to rise while operating profits should meet the consensus of £126 million, the statement concluded.

Shares rose 32p to 607p.
