Arecor Therapeutics PLC (AIM:AREC) has named David Ellam interim chief financial officer effective immediately, replacing Susan Lowther, who left in July.
Ellam brings over 20 years of experience in finance and the life sciences industry. A chartered accountant, he previously served as CFO for several healthcare companies.
His past roles include leading financial operations at Juvenescence, a company developing treatments to enhance healthy ageing; Silence Therapeutics, which specialises in therapies based on the body’s natural gene-silencing process, RNA interference; and Sixfold Bioscience, which uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to develop RNA-based drug delivery systems.
Ellam began his career at global accounting firm PwC before holding various finance and internal audit positions at companies such as Smith & Nephew, a leading medical technology business.
