Oriole Resources PLC (AIM:ORR) CEO Martin Rosser talked with Proactive about the company's recent phase two infill trenching results for the Mbe project.
Rosser shared highlights, including significant results from the Mbe South and North prospects.
He noted that "one trenching result [at Mbe South] showed 79 meters at 0.43g per ton, a significant length", with Mbe North showing even longer intervals. According to Rosser, these results align well with phase one trenching data, underscoring the consistency of mineralisation across the project.
Proactive: You've released phase two infill trenching results for Mbe. Can you provide some highlights from these results, please?
Martin Rosser: The highlights are very impressive to us. For example, at Mbe South, we recorded one trenching result at 79 meters, yielding 0.43g per ton, which is a significant length. And then at Mbe North, we had an even longer interval—122 meters in one trench—showing 0.34g per tonne gold. So both of these are good results.
Proactive: Martin, how do these results compare with the phase one trenching data?
Martin Rosser: Very well, as they support the initial findings from phase one. The results provide coverage over the soil anomaly and demonstrate the consistency of mineralization, which is encouraging.
Proactive: With the completion of reporting for both phase one and phase two trenching data, what has this data told you about Mbe?
Martin Rosser: The data has confirmed that Mbe is a significant target. At the North Prospect, we identified a 450-meter-long mineralized corridor, while at the Southern Prospect, there's a 500-meter corridor. These corridors are significant in length and show substantial mineralization widths, validating the surface area of the anomaly through trenching.
Proactive: What are the next steps for Mbe?
Martin Rosser: The next step is an exciting one, as we move from surface-based exploration to probing the subsurface. We’re preparing to start a maiden drilling program this quarter to further explore the mineralized body. Everyone's working hard to get this started—it’s a major step for this prospect.
Proactive: What do you hope to learn from the maiden drill program?
Martin Rosser: As they say in the exploration business, the drilling machine is the truth machine. The program will let us see if we can intersect mineralization at depth, providing insight into what we might have at Mbe. We’re investing substantial effort into exploring this target thoroughly.
