Just the Facts: Empire Energy receives environmental approval for Carpentaria Pilot Project

Just the Facts: Empire Energy receives environmental approval for Carpentaria Pilot Project

Proactive’s Tylah Tully breaks down ‘Just the Facts’ of the latest news from Empire Energy Group Ltd (ASX:EEG, OTC:EEGUF).

The company has secured environmental approval from the Northern Territory Government for its Carpentaria Pilot Project, advancing development in the Beetaloo Basin.

The approval includes the Environment Management Plan (EMP), which authorises the drilling of up to nine new wells, the establishment of the Carpentaria Gas Plant and installation of above-ground processing facilities that will connect to the McArthur River Pipeline for gas exports.

Only a final regulatory approval under the NT Petroleum Act’s Beneficial Use of Test Gas provisions remains.

The stakeholder consultation process for this final approval is underway. Empire expects the Carpentaria project to contribute to the Northern Territory’s energy supply and align with the NT government's goals for regional energy independence and economic growth.

The company stated that this project, supported by the NT government, is anticipated to create thousands of jobs, help reduce energy prices across NT and Eastern Australia and stimulate local manufacturing.

Empire is preparing to begin drilling the Carpentaria-5H well, with Ensign Rig #965 already on location.
