QC Copper and Gold Inc. (TSX-V:QCCU, OTCQB:QCCUF) announced the completion of a drill core resampling program at the K1 Zone at the Thierry copper project in Pickle Lake, Ontario.
The drill core resampling program focused on resampling core from 34 historical drill holes, dating from 2002 to 2023, that were previously never sampled due to an unidentified style of mineralization.
The program aims to expand and refine the K1 bulk-tonnage resource, with the potential to uncover additional mineralization and enhance the existing geological model.
The resampling targets areas of disseminated pyrite and chalcopyrite mineralization, particularly within ultramafic zones and altered rock formations.
QC Copper noted that the program design and execution benefitted from its experience at the Opemiska project, a former high-grade copper producer in Quebec.
It also highlighted the cost-effective nature of the approach, which will provide insights similar to those of a drill program twinning the 34 holes but at a fraction of the cost. It estimates the cost is just 6% of an equivalent drill program, which could be upwards of $2.4 million.
Cuprum, which owns 100% of the Thierry project, is carrying out a business combination with QC Copper that is expected to close in December.
