Thruvision gets financial backing of major sharehloders

Body scanning equipment maker Thruvision has received a strong show of financial backing from its two biggest shareholders.

Schroders and Pentland have put up most of a £1.375 million raising at 11p a share, with the price a 29% premium to the recent close.

Thruvision makes scanners used by retailers (JD Sports is a customer) to help stop shoplifting and also in cargo areas in airports but sales traction has been affected by a slowdown in US public sector contracts.

Following the placing, Schroders will have a 16.8% stake and Pentland 13.7%.

Shares in Thruvision rose by 18% to 10p.
