Oriole Resources PLC (AIM:ORR) has reported more zones of gold mineralisation from infill trenching at its 80%-owned Mbe gold project in Cameroon.
A Phase 2 infill trenching programme at the MB01 prospect, specifically the MB01-N and MB01-S targets, showed best widths of 79m at 0.43 grammes per tonne gold and 122m at 0.34g/t.
These results correlate well with Phase 1 trenching data, Oriole added, and outline a broad, approximately N-S to NNE-SSW trending, 500m long mineralised corridor at MB01-S, and an NNW-SSE trending, 450m long mineralised corridor at MB01-N.
A fully funded maiden drilling programme is expected to commence later this quarter.
Martin Rosser, Oriole’s chief executive, said: "We are pleased to have now reported the final highly encouraging trenching results from Mbe.
“They are consistent and correlate well with those from Phase 1 and are over significant gold mineralised widths.
BCM International has a 10% interest in the licence and is currently funding up to US$4 million in exploration to earn a further 40%.
Mbe is one of five licences within Oriole’s package of contiguous exploration licences, which it calls the 'Eastern CLP' and that cover 2,266 square km.
