The ASX declined 0.13% to 8,255.6 points. Over the last week, the index has gained 1.52%, with its value 1.54% below its 52-week high.
Top-performing stocks included Block Inc (NYSE:SQ), which rose 10% to $126.40, and Megaport, up by 5.33% to $8.10 per share.
In contrast, Paladin Energy Ltd (ASX:PDN) saw a drop of 28.9% to $6.88 after announcing reduced production forecasts for the Langer Heinrich mine in Namibia, marking a seven-year low for the company’s stock.
Sector performance was mixed, with Information Technology leading gains, up by 1.39%, while Energy and Materials sectors fell by 1.66% and 1.41%, respectively.
Among small-cap stocks, Jindalee Lithium Ltd (ASX:JLL, OTCQX:JNDAF) followed up yesterday's double figure gain with another 30.36% increase to $0.365 while International Graphite Ltd (ASX:IG6) was up to 29.63% higher to $0.07.
IG6 shares surged thanks to a $4.5 million grant from the Western Australian Government to support developing Australia’s first micronising graphite facility in Collie.
Cadoux Ltd (ASX:CCM, OTCQB:FYIRF) was as much as 21.43% higher to $0.051, Reward Minerals Ltd (ASX:RWD) gained as much as 14.29% to $0.088, Latin Resources Ltd (ASX:LRS, OTC:LRSRF) traded up to $0.2075, a 12.17% increase on yesterday's close and American Rare Earths Ltd (ASX:ARR, OTCQB:ARRNF) was up to 8.52% higher to $0.235.
