Norsk Titanium (OTCQX:NORSF) has secured continued funding from the US Department of Defense to develop its production capabilities for nickel superalloy components using its proprietary Rapid Plasma Deposition (RPD) technology.
The funding supports Norsk Titanium (OTCQX:NORSF)’s goal to refine the manufacturing process for nickel superalloy components, widely used in defense and oil and gas sectors for their high strength and resistance to corrosion.
Norsk recently confirmed that its RPD technology meets material specifications and industry standards through rigorous statistical material analysis, validating RPD’s ability to produce nickel superalloy components for broader commercial applications.
“This achievement demonstrates the ability of Norsk Titanium (OTCQX:NORSF)’s RPD wire-based production process to manufacture components with complex geometries from a wide range of metals while maintaining material integrity,” the company said in a statement.
The goal of the development effort with the US DoD is to supply large components traditionally manufactured with legacy forging and casting methods, it added.
