Power Nickel Inc (TSX-V:PNPN, OTCQB:PNPNF) has unveiled another set of promising assay results from its summer drilling program at the polymetallic Lion Zone at its Nisk project in Quebec.
Highlights from the results included 19.60 meters with 3.82% copper equivalent (CuEq) of 1.27 grams per ton (g/t) gold, 20.30 g/t silver, 2.53% copper, 1.01 g/t palladium, 2.42 g/t platinum and 0.15% nickel from Hole 72.
Two drills are on site and are actively targeting expansions to the west of the Lion Zone. The company highlighted that the results to date have demonstrated lateral continuity to the west, significantly increasing the size of the zone since the drill program started.
"We are impressed with what we have discovered so far, given the impressive grades and polymetallic nature of the deposit,” Power Nickel VP exploration Ken Williamson said in a statement.
“We are ramping up our exploration efforts using different proven geophysical and geochemical techniques and we are actively processing the data.”
Terry Lynch, Power Nickel CEO, said the summer of 2024 would be remembered as an “epic one” regarding ongoing discovery at the Lion Zone.
“The westward expansion has continued to produce some fantastic results,” Lynch said.
“Following up 32 meters of almost 7% CuEq with almost 40 meters of 4.19% CuEq, Hole 72 provides a continuation of our track record of success. As we push west, we are learning more about the mineralized zone and how it behaves, and our ability to track and anticipate the zone is improving.”
Lynch added that Power Nickel is now using downhole EM in all new holes, giving its exploration team insight into a radius of about 200 meters.
“While the summer drilling program was done on a smaller 50-meter fan drilling approach, the fall and winter programs are successfully drilling 150 plus meters step outs with this technique,” he said.
