Hemogenyx Pharmaceuticals PLC (LSE:HEMO, OTC:HOPHF), the biopharmaceutical company developing treatments for blood diseases, has secured £600,000 in funding from an unnamed institutional investor.
The new investment will support the upcoming phase I clinical trials of Hemogenyx’s Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cell therapy, known as HEMO-CAR-T or HG-CT-1.
This experimental treatment has been developed to target acute myeloid leukaemia, a severe form of blood cancer.
The trial marks a significant step forward in the company’s efforts to advance novel therapies for blood-related illnesses.
"We are greatly encouraged by the confidence shown by our new institutional investor and are grateful for their support in advancing our mission to bring innovative treatments to patients with acute myeloid leukaemia," said Hemogenyx CEO, Dr Vladislav Sandler.
"This investment enables us to take a significant step forward with our HEMO-CAR-T program, moving into clinical trials and bringing us closer to providing a new therapeutic option for patients facing this aggressive disease."
