Hillcrest Energy to launch FPGA-based control system for Zero Voltage Switching Inverters by year-end

Hillcrest Energy Technologies Ltd (CSE:HEAT, OTCQB:HLRTF) said it is planning to launch its FPGA-based control system for Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) inverters by the end of 2024.

The new Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA)-based control system is designed to optimize Hillcrest’s ZVS inverters, which have gained recognition for their ability to reduce switching losses and enhance efficiency.

The FPGA system will complement the current microcontroller option, delivering an alternative that responds to specific customer needs and supports real-time processing for peak performance across varying conditions.

"Over the past year, we've fielded numerous requests from potential customers for an FPGA-based control system and we are proud to announce the expected delivery of this new option by the end of this year,” said Hillcrest’s chief commercialization officer James Bolen.

“Completion of this project represents yet another significant advancement in the ZVS inverter technology, offering enhanced efficiency, precision, and reliability for various high-performance power applications.”

The FPGA control system enhances Hillcrest’s ZVS inverters by improving efficiency, providing real-time adaptive control, and increasing reliability through optimized switching timing. It is versatile, suitable for applications in renewable energy, electric vehicles, and industrial power supplies.

The control system marks Hillcrest’s latest effort to push the boundaries of energy technology. "This technology not only enhances the efficiency and reliability of ZVS inverters but also opens up new possibilities for energy management across a wide range of applications,” said Hillcrest CEO Don Currie.

Hillcrest’s FPGA-based control system is expected to support sustainable, efficient energy solutions in a range of high-demand industries.
