Georgina Energy PLC (LSE:GEX) told investors it is advancing the Hussar helium and hydrogen project, in Western Australia, towards its fully-funded drill programme.
It also progressing the Mt Winter project, also in Australia, where seismic data is currently being reprocessed.
The Hussar site will undergo a preliminary visit later this month, involving Traditional Owners, environmental consultants, and engineering teams. This will support drilling application submissions to the Department of Environment, Mining and Industry Regulation (DEMIRS).
Georgina is meanwhile finalising a resource update and seismic data reprocessing.
The drill programme is slated to get underway in December.
"The company continues to move along with re-entering Hussar and bringing Mt Winter to pre-drill as part of our programme to develop low-risk helium, hydrogen and natural gas projects in Australia,” chief executive Anthony Hamiton said in a statement.
“All the work programmes are fully funded from our recent listing."
Meanwhile, near Hussar, a scoping study aims to evaluate the potential of a hydrogen, helium, and natural gas separation facility near Hussar. Initial findings are expected in January, including cost and revenue projections for gas production and prospective third-party offtake agreements.
At the Mt Winter project, Georgina received an indication that Traditional Owners’ ratification is on track to complete in December, following positive consultations in Alice Springs in September.
Mt Winter has seen ongoing seismic data reprocessing aligned with the company’s farm-in obligations. The company continues to assess farm-in opportunities for subsalt helium, hydrogen and natural gas targets beyond the Hussar and Mt Winter projects.
Wholly-owned subsidiary Westmarket Oil & Gas recently signed a confidentiality agreement with a second Australian energy company. If it becomes a farm-in transaction it would adds further helium, hydrogen and natural gas prospects in Australia.
