NielsenIQ mulls $10B IPO - Bloomberg

NielsenIQ, a consumer intelligence firm backed by private equity firms Advent International and KKR, is weighing an initial public offering (IPO) that could value the company at around $10 billion, Bloomberg News reported on Tuesday.

The company, which provides insights on consumer behavior to help brands track buying trends and pinpoint growth opportunities, is in early discussions with advisors for a potential listing in 2025.

However, a final decision on the IPO has not yet been made, sources familiar with the matter told Bloomberg.

NielsenIQ, also known as NIQ, was formerly part of Nielsen Holdings Ltd. In 2021, Advent acquired the consumer data division, then called Nielsen Global Connect, for $2.7 billion. In 2023, NIQ expanded through the acquisition of Germany-based GfK SE, a consumer intelligence company backed by KKR, further strengthening its global footprint in consumer insights.

If the IPO proceeds, it would come as the market for new listings shows signs of recovery. So far this year, IPOs on U.S. exchanges have raised nearly $40 billion, a 64% increase from the same period in 2023, according to Bloomberg data.
