Wizz Air Holdings PLC (AIM:WIZZ) has said flights were busier and passenger numbers increased in October.
Some 5.63 million passengers flew with the airline over the month, Wizz announced on Monday, marking a 4.1% increase on October 2023.
Load factors climbed by 0.4% to 92.9% in the meantime, as capacity climbed by 3.7% to 6.06 million seats.
Wizz had reported a drop in load factors for September, with Monday’s update showing the figure down 1.1% at 90.1% on a rolling 12-month basis.
The increase in capacity came despite groundings relating to checks on suspected Pratt & Whitney geared turbofan engine issues, Wizz noted.
Emissions increased by 1.9% to 51.6 grams per revenue passenger kilometre in October due to Wizz’s “suboptimal fleet mix” on the back of the groundings, the airline added.
Wizz carried 62.5 million passengers over the year to October, reflecting an increase of 6.9%.
Shares climbed by 0.3% on Monday.
