OKYO Pharma to present Phase 2 dry eye disease trial data at TFOS conference

OKYO Pharma Ltd (NASDAQ:OKYO) announced it will present at the 10th International Tear Film & Ocular Surface Society (TFOS) Conference in Venice, Italy, being held from October 30 to November 2.

Dr Raj Patil, OKYO’s chief scientific officer, will present efficacy and safety data from the Phase 2 trial of OK-101, OKYO’s leading candidate for treating dry eye disease (DED), on November 2.

OKYO’s management team will also be participating in one-on-one meetings about the DED trial results and the recent opening of a Phase 2 trial at Tufts Medical Center to test OK-101 in treating neuropathic corneal pain (NCP).

“We are thrilled to share our clinical findings with the TFOS community,” OKYO Pharma CEO Dr Gary Jacob said in a statement.

“DED is a multifactorial and often frustrating condition for both patients and eye care providers, and our goal is to provide an effective, long-lasting treatment that improves the quality of life for millions who struggle with DED daily.”

OKYO Pharma is developing innovative therapies for the treatment of DED and NCP. OK-101 is a long-acting lipid-conjugated chemerin peptide designed to treat DED and NCP by targeting ChemR23 receptors on immune cells to reduce inflammation and pain, with promising Phase 2 trial results demonstrating its efficacy.
