QEM Ltd (ASX:QEM) managing director Gavin Loyden joins Proactive’s Tylah Tully at the International Mining and Resources Conference 2024 in Sydney.
He discusses the company's recent developments, including a scoping study, and projects, including the flagship Julia Creek Vanadium Project.
Loyden highlighted key outcomes from the scoping study, showcasing a post-tax net present value (NPV) of $1.1 billion and a projected payback period of five years. The project is expected to have a 30-year lifespan, with further stages under development.
Reflecting on recent milestones, Loyden mentioned that QEM had secured funding to advance Julia Creek toward its pre-feasibility study (PFS) phase.
He explained, “There’s going to be quite a bit of news flow over the next 12 months,” as QEM pushes forward with environmental, water access and beneficiation work.
He added that the company was focusing on optimizing the pilot plant process and building out its team next year, with the intention of accelerating the timeline.
Looking ahead, investors can expect updates as QEM progresses with its UQ collaboration on catalyst projects and continues advancing critical work toward the PFS.
Loyden concluded by emphasizing the importance of moving swiftly, given the rising demand for critical minerals.
Proactive Investors will be at IMARC tomorrow interviewing more companies.
