Power Nickel Inc (TSX-V:PNPN, OTCQB:PNPNF) reported its largest intersection to date at the Lion Zone on its Nisk project in Quebec.
Assay results from two holes at the Lion Zone revealed strong mineralization highlighted by 39.6 meters of mineralization including 0.38 g/t gold, 19.57 g/t silver, 2.62% copper, 3.37 g/t palladium, 0.80 g/t platinum, and 0.13% nickel.
A standout 11.6-meter section showed even higher concentrations, including 8.25% copper and 9.57 g/t palladium.
Another hole returned 29.1 meters with 0.25 g/t gold, 4.97 g/t silver, 0.51% copper, 1.52 g/t palladium, 0.70 g/t platinum, and 0.06% nickel.
"This is incredibly rich in metal contained, and we are expecting to deliver more of these types of holes as we finish the last of our summer drill program,” Power Nickel CEO Terry Lynch said in a statement.
“The Lion Zone is showing impressive grades and overall thickness and doing this consistently.”
Lynch added that the company is nearing completion of its fully funded fall and winter drilling program, which covers 30,000 meters.
Ken Williamson, vice-president of exploration, noted that the semi-massive sulphide zone continues to deliver both in grade and thickness. "With such volume of semi-massive to massive conductive sulphides, there is no doubt that the downhole EM surveys will help us out big time," Williamson said.
The Nisk project is located in Quebec, a region known for its polymetallic resources. Power Nickel's drilling campaign aims to further define the size and scope of the Lion Zone deposit.
